Efficient cooling is a critical consideration in the operation of supermarket retail estates. While the sector’s expertise has long been relied upon to ensure the quality of products on shelves and across the supply chain, there is also huge potential to put cooling at the heart of more holistic strategies to ensure the most efficient store design.
These strategies will need to look at how efficiency is built into the overall design of an estate to ensure that cooling and heating can effectively be provided alongside addressing needs for lighting, EV charging and other vital energy requirements on a site.
RAC Magazine, in association with Copeland, will be hosting its Store of the Future - Regulation – Decarbonisation – Urbanisation event at Birmingham’s National Motorcycle Museum on 27 September to discuss the issue of holistic thinking on energy efficiency.
The event will include live panel discussions bringing together policy and supply chain specialists to talk about getting the most efficient estate possible and the role of technology in doing this.
